Obituary

Mary Arlena Mitchell was born on November 17th, 1967 at Kings County Hospital, in Brooklyn, New York. Lena, as she was affectionately known, was the youngest child of George Mitchell and Lena Parker. In the late 70’s the family moved to Van Siclen Ave in East New York Brooklyn, where Lena would attend and Graduate from Thomas Jefferson High School. She was an excellent student who loved to learn. After High School Lena would continue her education and she would go to work as a health care professional. Lena was also an entrepreneur who established and ran her own home cleaning business. Lena was a highly spiritual person who had a great sense of humor and a thunderous laugh that could fill a void in anyone’s heart. She was kind and compassionate. Always there to help or share some much-needed advice. She was highly intelligent; Always searching for knowledge, she had a great interest in Astrophysics and in the interpretation of visions and dreams. Her favorite saying was, “starting the day off angry will ruin your day”, reminding us that life is what you make it.

Of all her accomplishments, the one thing Lena took the most pride in; the responsibility that she prioritized and relished the most, was being a tremendous mother to her children. Robert Brault once said, “A parent’s love is whole no matter how many times divided.”  He must have written that especially for Lena. Her children were her world. There was nothing she would not sacrifice, no mountain she would not climb for her children. Lena was the epitome of the saying that no one could ever love you as much as your parents. It is the type of love that 20 years from now when one of her children are troubled, they can reflect on, and feel comforted. It was the type of love that ultimately reminds us all, what life is all about.

Lena gained her wings with beauty and unmatched strength on December2nd 2020. She was preceded in death by her Father, George Mitchell; her Mother, Lena Parker; and her Sister, Eunice Mitchell.  She is survived by her Common Law husband, Dino Marconi; her two Daughters; Utopia Mitchell and Essence Marconi Mitchell; her Son, Prophet Marconi; 1 Grandson, Divine Mitchell; 5 Sisters; Annette Dancy, Sandra Tallerson, Brenda Mitchell, Sharon Mitchell, Armazer Mitchell; 2 Brothers John “K-Born” Mitchell, George Mitchell, and a host of In Laws, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, Family and Friends.

I am the Light.
In me there be no Darkness.
Call to the SPIRIT OF LIGHT
 Through the Space-Time,
Using these words
And thou shalt be free:
"Fill thou my body,
O SPIRIT OF Life,
Fill thou my body
With the SPIRIT OF LIGHT.
Come from the FLOWER
That shines through the darkness.
Come from the HALLS
Where the Seven Lords rule.
The Body is Nothing;
The Soul is All.
-Thoth
