Marion Horan (nee Judge) 

April 30, 1929 - January 2, 2022

The family of Marion Horan is saddened to announce that on January 2, 2022, she passed away peacefully at the age of 92.  

Marion was predeceased by her husband James Horan (deceased), a decorated U.S. Marine Corps combat veteran of World War II (Pacific Theater), whose service she deeply respected and honored.  Marion was the cherished mother of Matthew (deceased), James (deceased), Florence Hanley, and Helen Solimine; mother-in-law of Kevin Hanley and Tony Solimine; adored grandmother (Nana) of James, Florence, and Patrick (deceased) Hanley, Mary, Melanie, and Tonino Solimine, Lauren and Lindsey Horan, and Matthew Horan; loving great-grandmother of Priscilla, Brendan, Christa, Patrick, Jackson, Liam, and Ava.  Marion was predeceased by her sister Florence Conroy and is survived by her sister Dorothy Flynn.  

Marion was born on April 30, 1929, in Brooklyn, to Matthew and Florence (known as Babe) Judge.  She was the oldest of three girls.  Marion grew up in Carroll Gardens where she was a parishioner at St. Mary Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church.  Marion was a graduate of St. Alphonsus High School, Manhattan.  Throughout her life she worked in various secretarial capacities while managing to raise four loving children.  Among her hobbies were reading (murder mysteries and science fiction), singing (Dean Martin, Patsy Cline, and Engelbert Humperdinck), dancing, and generally, having a good time.  She possessed a sharp wit matched by an even sharper sense of style and glamour.  

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022, between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. at Forest North Funeral Chapel, 747 Forest Avenue, Staten Island, New York.  A funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022, at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, 1091 Forest Avenue, Staten Island, New York.  A burial service will follow at Ocean View Cemetery, 3315 Amboy Road, Staten Island, New York.
