Edna Luz Vargas

September 10, 1954 ~ August 4, 2022 (age 67)

Obituary

“Edna Luz Vargas better known to her friends as “China” was born on September 10, 1954 in New York City and grew up in Park Slope, Brooklyn.

Her family relocated to Sunset Park in Brooklyn, New York where she became an intricate member of her community.

Always humble and kind, she graciously believed in going out of her way to help others without the expectancy of returned favors. She loved the Lord, she loved her family and she loved her friends and would always greet them with a magnetic smile that reflected just how beautiful she was on the inside.

She had many pastimes, such as dancing to her favorite tunes from artists like Cher and Willie Colon or watching her favorite shows like Blue Bloods and CSI.  But nothing brought her more joy than decorating for the Christmas holiday or simply sitting down with a blank canvas to draw anything that came to mind.

Edna was loyal to her true soulmate Andrew Morales and was the greatest mother to her children: Kimberly Vargas and Iris Morales. She leaves behind two sisters to cherish her memories: Linda Tierney and Wendy Yannucci, two brothers: Daniel Llamas and Bruce Llamas, her grandchildren: Sheldon Rodriguez, Joacin Mendez, Anthony Mendez and Solara Gonzalez. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and also by her adored kitty “Misu”.

She was preceded in death by her mother Inez C. Llamas and her brother Paul Llamas whom we faithfully know are now reunited with her in heaven.”
