Diane Paxton, age 64, passed away January 11, 2021 in her home in Brooklyn after a battle with breast cancer.
Diane Paxton (nee Rocks) was born in The Bronx, NY, to Frances and Catherine Rocks, and raised in Huntington, NY, with her brother James and sister Carol. Growing up on Long Island, Diane and her siblings spent lots of time sailing on cabin cruisers. Diane attended Bennett College in Millbrook, where she met John Paxton, and the two later completed their BA degrees at New York City Institute of Technology. In 1985, the couple had a child. After separating from John, Diane remained in Brooklyn where she raised her daughter. Diane earned an MA in Acupuncture and founded her own holistic health business.
Diane was passionate about nutrition and health and helped countless New Yorkers improve their health and quality of life throughout her years as an alternative health care practitioner. In her free time, Diane loved to stay active by visiting the beach, biking around and outside of the city, and kayaking, hiking, and apple-picking in Hudson Valley. She loved to travel and visited Costa Rica, Mexico, Canada, The Bahamas, Italy, and Spain. She knit, read avidly, and sang in a choir.
Diane is survived by her daughter Natsumi Paxton, sister Carol Power, nephews Anthony and David Gomez and niece Tina Rocks.
