Bolivar Enrique Cevallos, 67, passed away on the morning of April 17th, 2021 in his home land of Guayaquil, Ecuador from pulmonary edema caused by the covid-19 virus.
Bolivar was born on June 18th, 1953 in Guayaquil, Ecuador and immigrated to New York as a teenager with the rest of his family. While growing up in Brooklyn, he attended high school and continued his love for soccer, music and dancing. He started his career as a NYC Yellow Taxi driver in 1978 and continued as such, until a few years before his passing.
One of Bolivar’s biggest accomplishments was being a father and husband. His children, Alexandra, Robert and Stephanie, all knew him as a devoted and supporting father, always making jokes and lifting up their spirits. He spent the majority of his life working extremely hard to make sure that his family never needed for anything. As a husband, he spent all of his moments by his wife’s side, enjoying their frequent long walks and shopping together. During the last years of his life, he and his wife split their time between Brooklyn and Guayaquil. While in Ecuador, he enjoyed taking walks in the sun, traveling throughout the country and was always looking forward to his next meal. He will be remembered as a person who always enjoyed and appreciated every meal he sat down to have. He is survived by his wife Alemania Cevallos, children Alexandra Martinez, Robert and Stephanie Cevallos, grand-children Iman and Ka-Lin Martinez, brothers Freddy, Ricardo, Miguel, Jose, Sisters Blanca, Rosa, Narcissa, Nancy, Zoila, Marisol, Mercedes, Deny and mother Hilda Silva
