Victor M. Maldonado Melendez, age 75, went to heaven surrounded by the love of his life, Evelyn and his sister Nydia on 10/24/19. He was born in Florida, Puerto Rico, the son of Isidra Melendez and Victor Maldonado. Victor is survived by his five siblings and six children Manuel, Edwin, Maritza, Janet, Richard, and Daniel. He also leaves to cherish his memory twelve grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, three stepdaughters, eight step grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents and four siblings.
Over fifty years ago, Victor left his beloved island of Puerto Rico and relocated to Brooklyn, New York. During this time, he worked in several positions, until he began working at Waldbaums Incorporated for 23 years, where he retired from in 2007. His passion was using his hands to build and do repairs for family and friends.
Victor was a wonderful humble human being, who loved his family dearly. He loved to travel with the love of his life, Evelyn. They enjoyed the beautiful beaches, ocean, and sun of Puerto Rico several times a year. He loved to dance and enjoyed life to the fullest. To his siblings a better son and brother they could have not asked for. One of Victor’s greatest enjoyments was spending time with his friends, playing dominoes on the busy street of 5th Avenue he learned to love.
Victor requested we thank the Hidalgo, Tull, and Molina families for the many years of friendship, good times shared, and all their love and support throughout the years. Victor loved to share stories and adventures about “his nenes”, who were his pride and joy and loved more than life itself. Victor will be greatly missed.
We will always love you,
You will always be in our hearts,
Until we meet again…
Rest in Peace
