August 12, 1934 ~ September 9, 2018 (age 84)

Today I say farewell to my dearest Godmother and Aunt, Julia...

I was blessed not only once but twice when my mother decided that Titi Julia would be my Madrina and the wonderful, humble man with gorgeous blue eyes, whom she married, would become my Godfather or as we say Padrino.

Thank you Madrina for being a woman who would do anything to see her family happy and well taken care of and for setting out one of the greatest examples of what a person is supposed to do in life, Serve Others.

Thank you for spending countless hours of your own childhood to take care of your siblings, my mother included. It was a huge sacrifice at such a young age, yet you continued to do so throughout your entire life. Even when you became a mother to Miriam and Ivan, you would take hours away from your own family to please others. However, you did this with your heart and soul.

Today Madrina you will rest in peace knowing that your children, my wonderful cousins, both Miriam and Ivan, followed your example, took care of you and did everything possible to give you the best quality of life until God decided it was time to join Him.

Titi Julia and Madrina, you meant so much to all of us but to me you were also a vivid reminder of my mother, your sister. You were almost like twins in every sense. Just hearing your voice reminded me of hers. The remarkable resemblance you had with her was like watching mom smile at me again. I even enjoyed your food which reminded me somewhat of hers (although yours was better than moms). You basically took me back to the moment that mom was alive and well.

Thank you again for setting out the example of loving, but most of all of serving others. I love you Madrina and I will miss you dearly. With tears in my eyes I say farewell until we meet again.

Your Godchild and niece,

Brenda
