At the age of 78, on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, Bienvenido Nicolás García Ledesma passed away.
For the last couple of years, he struggled with dementia, and encountered further complications
after suffering a fall at the nursing home, where he resided. Bienvenido or as he was commonly
referred to by close friends and family members “Pupullo,” (a name that made reference to his
notable good looks) was born on March 08, 1940 in the Dominican Republic to Dominicana
Ledesma Gonzalez, a school teacher, and Nicolás García Ramirez, a businessman. Pupullo grew
up in the inner-city neighborhood of Villa Francisca of which he was extremely proud. He
graduated high school in his home country, and went on to complete vocational training in auto
mechanics. After participating in la Guerra de Abril in 1965 <the War of Abril> in his homeland,
for which he was hailed for joining the first few men who stepped foot on the battle field,
Pupullo migrated to the United States of America (USA) in June 1967. He spent most of his time
in the USA living and working in East New York, Brooklyn, where he established several auto
mechanic shops and made a name for himself as an excellent mechanic. Pupullo enjoyed politics
and good conversation. He was a raving nationalist and revolutionary at heart. He married twice.
He is survived by his siblings, Milagros García, Zoilo A. Ledesma and Isabel María Ledesma,
his children Betty García, Ronny Bienvenido García Marte, Héctor Nicolás García Marte,
Dominicana García and Mary García. He is also survived by a multitude of grandchildren
including Adel García Rodriguez, Rodolfo Bienvenido Marte García, Arby Danny Gomez

Nelita Suero, Julien Suero, Hannah Morales, Michael Johnson, Rose Cherise, Elysia Hernández
García, Eliana Morillo García and Evelyse Morillo García, greatgrandchildren and other loved
family members and friends. He will be greatly missed by all whose life he so fondly impressed!

at 10 am.
